The Dry Riser Inlet Sign is designed to clearly identify the inlet connection for a dry rising main within a building. Featuring a clear and highly visible Dry Riser Inlet message, this sign helps firefighters, emergency responders, maintenance engineers and other authorised personnel quickly locate the connection point during an emergency, inspection or maintenance procedure.
Suitable for apartment blocks, offices, hotels, hospitals, commercial developments, industrial buildings, multi storey premises and other buildings fitted with dry rising mains, this sign can be positioned directly above or adjacent to the external dry riser inlet cabinet or connection point.
A dry rising main is a system of pipework installed within a building to assist fire fighting operations at different levels. Under normal conditions the pipework remains empty of water. During an emergency, the fire and rescue service can connect a water supply to the dry riser inlet and pump water through the system to landing valves located on relevant floors.
Dry rising mains can provide firefighters with an efficient means of delivering water to upper levels of a building without needing to run long lengths of hose through stairways and other access routes. Being able to identify the inlet quickly can therefore support efficient fire service operations when responding to an incident.
Clearly displayed Dry Riser Inlet signage is particularly important where the connection is positioned among other building services, utility cabinets or access points.
